What is a single bet?
- This is a bet placed on one single sports-event.
What is a system bet?
- As opposed to single bets or combination bets that are either simply won or lost as a whole, each individual bet within the system bet is treated separately, so one system bet could eventually contain a mix of winning and losing bets.
- For system bets, sometimes the player can win less than the stake, and sometimes quite a bit more.
What is a combination bet?
- Also known as an accumulator, a bet that contains two or more selections.
- Compared to a system bet, the bet is only won if all of the individual bets in the bet slip are won.
- The odds for the bet is calculated by multiplying all the individual odds.
- Combination bets are often named based on the number of selection made:
- Double (2), Treble (3), 4-fold, 5-fold, etc.
Example: A player bets €10 on 3 outcomes 1)Liverpool to win against Arsenal, odds 2.30 2) Manchester City to win against Newcastle, odds 1.40 and 3) Tottenham to win against Watford, odds 1.75.
- The total odds are: 2.30 * 1.40 * 1.75 = 5.635.
- The potential payout is 5.64 * €10 = €56.35.
- The player only wins if all of the individual bets is won, if any of the outcomes is settled as a loss the whole bet is lost.
What is an Each Way bet?
- An each-way bet is basically two bets: a win bet and a place bet.
- For the place part of the bet to give a return, the selection must either win or finish in one of the predetermined places for the event, such as first place or second place.
- This means you can receive a return on your bet if your selection wins, but also if it just places.
- When placing an each way bet, you stake an amount on both the win and the place.
- So if you place €5 each way, you'll be placing €5 on the win and €5 on the place, a total of €10.
How to place an each way bet?
- Ensure you tick the 'Each Way' box underneath your selection on the bet slip.
- You can see that the total will automatically be doubled as it will look at the stake you want to place on each line of your bet.
How will this bet be settled?
- Once the event has finished your bet will be settled shortly after by our Sportsbook team.
- Example: In the 2017 Gold Cup, the Each Way terms were a Fifth the Odds for 3 Places which is written as: E/W Odds > 1/5 1-2-3
- 1,2,3 means we are paying three places (first, second and third) at a fifth of the odds (divide the winning odds by 5).
- If your horse wins, you get returns for it winning and also the returns for it placing.
- If it finishes 2nd or 3rd then you get returns for the place part only - your win bet is a loser.
- Most horse races are either 1/4 or 1/5 the odds. Remember if your horse wins you get the win returns and the place returns, but if it only places you only get the place returns.
- The amount of places depends on the type of race and the number of runners.
