If a particular player is backed in the goalscorer market in a football match, an own goal will affect the settlement of the bet in different ways.
An example would be if you backed Cristiano Ronaldo to score the first goal but this was actually an own goal, then the bet will be settled on the following goal that is scored.
If Ronaldo scores the second goal of the match, then the bet placed would be settled as a winning bet.
However, if the first goal is an own goal by Ronaldo and the second goal is scored by a different player then the bet is settled as a loss.
If following the own goal by Ronaldo there is no other goal scored then the result would be settled as “No Goalscorer” and the bet would also be settled as a loss.
If “Correct Scores” is the betting market chosen then the own goal would count as a regular goal.
If the match ends in a 1-0 result with the only goal being an own goal, then the correct score result is 1-0.
