What is Colossus?

Colossus is a pool betting product. Our life-changing jackpots are offered across a range of sports, including football, tennis and basketball. Players place bets into our pools for a chance to win (or share with other winners) the jackpot prizes. In our Big Jackpot pools, there is also the opportunity to win (or share with other winners) substantial consolation prizes. Colossus offers Cash Out in all our pools, which means players can receive dividends even on tickets that go on to lose.

When can I bet and how do I place a bet?

You can bet at any time after a pool is loaded on the site up until the scheduled kick-off of the first match (leg) in the pool.

Click on the pool you want to enter to navigate to the main pool page, where you will see the coupon and bet slip for that pool. On the coupon, make at least one selection in each leg. Each set of selections is known as a ‘line’. You can make multiple selections per leg but this will increase the cost of your ticket in proportion to the number of lines chosen. On the bet slip, choose your stake per line.

The highlighted default stake allows you to play for the full available jackpot. You can select a lower (fractional) stake per line but this will also decrease the jackpot prize (and consolation prizes if available) you are playing for in proportion to the stake. For example, in a 1X2 Pick 5 pool, a £2 stake per line plays for £5,000, a £0.50 stake per line plays for £1,250 and a £0.20 stake per line plays for £500. Tip: Click on the stake options and watch how the jackpot prize changes in the headline.

 When you are ready to submit your ticket, log in (or register if you don’t already have an account) and click the “Play now” button. Tip: You can check the final cost and number of lines in your ticket on the “Play now” button before proceeding.

What are Colossus Syndicates?

Colossus Syndicates is the first-ever ‘crowd betting’ solution for sports pools. You can crowdfund tickets into Colossus pools, either by backing existing tickets or becoming a ‘Captain’ and creating tickets yourself. Colossus handles all the setup, funding and pay-out administration so players only have to worry about placing their bets.

How do I create my own Colossus Syndicate?

Before you can create a Syndicate, you need to create a Captain profile. Click on the ‘Create’ button and add a Captain name and avatar image. Tip: Your Captain name needs to be different than your account username.

The next time you click on the ‘Create’ tab you will be taken to the list of open pools where you can select which pool to create a Syndicate ticket for. You can then make your selections, choose the stake per line when playing solo and click “Continue”. The final step is to add your contribution to the Syndicate, which must be between 10% and 50% of the overall ticket cost. Tip: You can top up your initial contribution any time while the Syndicate ticket is still available to fund but you can never exceed a total of 50% of the overall ticket cost.

How can I join a Colossus Syndicate?

You can join a Syndicate by navigating to the ‘Syndicates’ tab and browsing the list of available Syndicates. Click on a Syndicate to view the ticket selections. You can contribute using either one of the suggested bet amounts or the free form box to type in your own contribution. You can join Syndicates from as little as €0.20.

What is pool betting?

Pool betting is a form of betting where players contribute a fixed amount (stake) into a pool and then make a selection on an outcome or series of outcomes (legs). The pool (after operator deductions) is then divided among those that have made the correct selection.

Colossus pools have modernized the traditional form of pool betting by featuring:

Guaranteed jackpot prizes – available to winners regardless of the total amount of player contributions into the pools.

Consolation prizes – for those who closely miss winning the Big Jackpot prizes.

Cash Out offers – allowing players to sell all or part of their tickets back to Colossus and lock in a profit regardless of the outcome in the remaining legs in the pool.

What pool types do you offer? How do I win?

Colossus offers the following pool types:

1X2 – where you need to predict the outcome of a series of matches.

Correct Score – where you need to predict the exact correct score for a series of matches.

Asian Handicap – where you need to predict the outcome of a series of matches given a specified match handicap.

Over/Under – where you need to predict whether the combined score of the two competing teams in a match will be over or under a specified number.

Both Teams To Score (BTTS) – where you need to predict if both teams will score at least one goal in the match or not.

Point Margin – where you need to predict the margin by which one team will beat the other by.

Win - where you need to pick the winner of each of the races listed in a pool.

Place - where you need to pick a horse(s) to be placed in each of the races listed in the pool.

Finishing Order - where you need to pick the exact finishing order for each of the positions required.

What is Smart Pick?

Smart Pick is a unique Colossus feature that helps you make your tickets selections when you can’t make up your mind or just need an extra hand. Once you’ve selected your stake and number of lines to include in the ticket, the Smart Pick feature picks from the most probable outcomes in each leg.

If you don’t like a selection made by Smart Pick for a particular leg, you can change that selection before purchasing your ticket.

What is Freeplay?

From time to time, your account may receive FreePlay tokens into Colossus pools. Keep an eye on the ‘Freeplay’ tab for notifications of available tokens that enable you to play for free, yet with all the functionality of real-money play. Tokens will either be awarded for individual pools or allow you to choose from a list of pools.

How does Cash Out work? Where do I see my Cash Out offers?

At certain times, Colossus will make an offer to buy a ticket that is still eligible to win a prize (jackpot or consolation). These offers are typically made between the end of one match in a pool and the start of the next match. In some instances, there may also be Cash Out offers made at half times or breaks in play. Colossus allows players to sell parts of their tickets in 10% portions, enabling you to cash out part of your ticket whilst still retaining a chance of winning the main jackpot prize.

Log in regularly to your account while the pool is in progress and check for Cash Out offers under “My tickets”.

Why can I not submit my ticket?

First, check that you are logged in. Then:

If the “Play now” button does not appear under your betslip, make sure you’ve made at least one selection in each leg of the pool.

If the “Play now” button appears under your betslip but you are getting an error message when you try to click, make sure you have enough funds in your wallet to cover the cost of the ticket.

How do I track the progress of my tickets?

First, make sure you are logged in. Then click on the ‘My tickets’ tab to access all your tickets. 

All pools that are in progress have a “History” and a “Leg-by-leg results” table. The Leg-by-leg results table displays all ‘live’ units in each remaining leg in the pool.

Please note that if your bets are made in a currency other than GBP (£), data such as Pool history, Leg-by-leg results and Prize Breakdown, are displayed on the site in GBP (£) units. This means that for example, if you place a bet in Euro (€), subject to currency conversion values, your bet is likely to appear as either less than a GBP (£) unit in the relevant pool.

How much will I win if I get all selections correct on my ticket?

You will win (or share in the case of multiple winners) the jackpot amount for that pool. You can remind yourself of the amount you are playing for by looking at your ticket under “My tickets”. Tip: Remember that if you chose a lower stake than the default when you placed your bet, you are playing for a fraction of the headline jackpot. For example, in a 1X2 Pick 5 pool, a £2 stake per line plays for £5,000, a £0.50 stake per line plays for £1,250 and a £0.20 stake per line plays for £500.

I didn’t win as much as I thought I did? Why is that?

This is usually due to one (or both) of the following reasons:

There were multiple winners, so the prize must be split among them. For example, in a £5,000 1X2 Pick 5 pool, if you are the only winner you would win £5,000. If there are 20 winners of the pool you would win £250.

You can see how many winning units there were in any recently settled pool by clicking on the results tab and looking at the “Prize Breakdown” for each pool listed.

You chose a stake per line on your ticket that is lower than the default unit stake in that pool. For example, in a 1X2 Pick 5 pool, a £2 stake per line plays for £5,000, a £0.50 stake per line plays for £1,250 and a £0.20 stake per line plays for £500.

You can confirm your stake per line and amount you were playing for by looking at your tickets in the ‘My Tickets’ section.

What happens if nobody wins the jackpot?

If a pool is not won, then the stakes contributed into that pool will carry forward into a future equivalent pool (and so on indefinitely until the pool is won). For example, a rollover on a Pick 6 pool will be carried over onto the next Pick 6 pool. Amounts that carry forward are known as ‘rollovers’. Any current rollover amount is shown in the expandable section of the pool header.

What are the staking options for Racing pools?

You can choose your stake level from the options in the betslip. As you change your stake per line, the minimum prize for which you are playing, as presented in the pool header, changes in proportion to your stake. To play for the full prize, you need to choose the maximum/full unit stake per line. In Win pools, the maximum/full unit stake per line is £2 (or currency equivalent). In Finishing Order pools, the maximum/full unit stake per line is £1. In-Place pools, the maximum/full unit stake per line is £1, but you also have the option to bet £5 or £10 per line, which means you are buying 5 or 10 units per line in your ticket.

What do the “Other Home Win”, “Other Draw” and “Other Away Win” selections on the Correct Score coupons mean?

‘Other’ brackets are used to group together unlikely, high scores. These selections do NOT mean all home wins / draws / away wins.

‘Other Home Win’ covers all home win scores NOT listed such as 4-0, 4-1, 5-1, 5-3 etc. If the result of a match is 2-1, then ‘Other Home Win’ would be a losing selection as 2-1 is listed on the coupon (screen).

 Similarly ‘Other Away Win’ covers all away win scores NOT listed on the coupon & ‘Other Draw’ covers all draw scores NOT listed on the coupon such as 2-2, 3-3, 4-4 etc.
